The following website is a real attention getter: The purpose of the is to inform the public of the financial condition of the USA.  Using complex formulas verified by multiple sources, the numbers give a real-time snapshot of the country’s balance sheet.  Here are some areas to focus upon as you ponder:

  • Spending and the tax revenue to pay for it
  • Largest budget items
  • Components of the financial meltdown
  • Types and amount of debt
  • Trade numbers
  • Unfunded liabilities

The debt crisis is the most pressing issue of our time.  We must begin to confront the challenge.  Understanding it is the beginning.

  • Had difficulty taking a look at this page in IE but it works fine in Opera. Nevermind, the post is good. I am very happy that I found this.

  • Everyone completely disregards that this website does not disclose its source for information. When you look at the registrant info, its all private..hmmmm? suspicious? Well when you look at the source code, its just a bunch of flash videos playing?

    codebase=",0,0,0" height="21" width="209">
    <param name="movie" value="mxnumbers/SpendingMx.swf" />
    <param name="quality" value="best" />
    <param name="play" value="true" />

    where is the data come from? Am I the only one who has web common sense here. does everyone just believe everything they see on the internet.
